Economic Development Opportunities
The New Braunfels Regional Airport has seen significant transformations in the last few years, and it has emerged as the premier facility for corporate and general aviation operators.  With a central location between Austin and San Antonio, the New Braunfels Regional Airport offers close proximity to these major economic centers and their major corporate and military centers.  

The ability to realize economic development benefits is important to the airport and its economic development partners at Build NB.  The New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (NBIDC)and City of New Braunfels can deliver various incentives for companies interested in an airport location. The following programs are offered to assist interested business and industries in their expansion or relocation to the airport:

    • School Property Tax Relief
    • Industrial Development Bond Financing
    • Utilities Impact Fee Waiver

    Recent Expansion Project- National Flight Services

    National Flight Services recently announced its decision to construct an engine repair facility at the New Braunfels Regional Airport.  To assist in the location process, the NBIDC  approved the provision of funds to extend sewer infrastructure to NFS' location, in addition to a blended package of low-interest financing and a grant. 

    Available Incentives

    Business Development

    Direct loans, guarantees, interest subsidies, grants, relocation and moving expenses, subsidized land and building costs, equipment purchases, gap financing

    Facility Development:

    Building construction, existing building expansion and upgrades, industrial land development.

    Infrastructure Development:

    Utility extensions to industry, utility development to key industrial areas, and infrastructure upgrades for industry.

    Workforce Development:

    Job training costs, equipment for training programs, coordinate with Local School Districts (ISDs), Supplement Skills Development Fund grants, technical/vocational center

    Infrastructure for Industry

    The Regional Airport continues to benefit from major investments from the state of Texas and City of New Braunfels. Projects currently underway or recently completed include:

    • Sewer and water infrastructure for site development
      • Status: Construction commencing late summer 2012
    • Upgraded Lighting and Signage
      • Status: Completed
    • Extension of runway 13-31 to 6,500 feet
      • Status: Expected Completion, Fall 2013
    • New apron areas for expanded aircraft tie-down opportunities
      • Status: Completed
    • Overlays of runway 13-31 and associated taxiways
      • Status: Completed
